In hindsight my history reads as the classical schoolbook. Selfmade entrepreneur, the american dream, highschool dropout yadayada. Bootstrapping, remortgaging my house, still scared shitless whenever I think about it. I started off with something completely new, streetmarketing. This initiative turned into industry not just a company. In the years I have worked with customers like PCM, Apple, Rabobank, Sanoma, Peugeot. Direct Force now has four offices spread across Holland. It's gotten rather big, so nowadays I concentrate on being an advisor for the board as well as stumbling on new ways to develop and unfold new markets , being a public speaker, watering the plants, actually whatever is needed. :) I am fluent in the major european languages that I picked up living abroad in my twenties. That helps because I like to share my story sofar, frank, honest and authentic as possible. I hope to be an inspiration. Even if you have nothing to show for, you still can make it happen. Managing a houshold with two adorable kids, advising 300+ company and still having something of a social life, makes me seem a superwoman. Well, I am not. It does not take much but the power to believe in the adage: "Het kan wèl!" (loosely translated: It ís possible!)
