• 20 before you die list | 19-09-10

  After a long gap, Emerson, Lake and Palmer a band from my childhood toured and I finally got to see them in Victoria Park in London. It would have been on my 20 things to do before I die.
  
  2. Is to write my book. (childhood to manhood)
  3. Leave a legacy of worth for my kids (not earth shattering but hey its on there)
  4. Go to see a mens Wimbledon final
  5. Build three platforms on the web that people admire
  6. type out Dad's diaries
  7. trace the family tree back one more century
  8. ......
  
  Have you made a list and if so what are you prepared to disemminate to us that is on it?

• Songs and music that move you. | 29-04-10

  I'm now a very much greyer babyboomer.
  I've found that music helps me remember my past, sometimes it shaped my past.
  
  I'm now taking my daughter to her first year of pop concerts.
  I can clearly remember the joy I had attending Sheffield City Hall watching some really great 70's bands and continuing attending into the 80's.
  There I have the dubious badge of honour of falling asleep at a Meat Loaf concert.
  I also lost my wallet from my pocket dancing to Lynyrd Skynyrd, but luckily it was still there, helps being on the back row of the balcony.
  
  What sparked me to write.
  My first concert was Wishbone Ash, backed by Home, it ended up being a day that literally changed my life forever. That's another story, but suffice to say I recently found Home on YouTube, and their album The Alchemist.
  What a joy to find the album which literally made my life as fantastic as it is today.
  Here's track one.
  Have a great bank holiday in the coming next few days.

  These excerpts are published each year to the amusement of teachers. Here are last year's winners.....

• Palm Oil destroys rainforests... 50 Orangutans a WEEK killed | 13-10-08

  Hello everybody, I'm not a prolific poster of threads or a seasoned blogger, but I hope that you will therefore take action upon my request.
  
  We were at Twycross Zoo yesterday and the demand for production of Palm Oil for use in FOODS and cosmetics, is the cause of the destruction of many rainforests.
  
  My wife is lobbying the supermarkets this week.
  Will you support the saving of many Orangutans by boycotting the purchase of products with it in..... 50 Orangutans a WEEK are killed through this stupidity.
  You can find Palm Oil in soap, ice cream, biscuits, cosmetics, cakes and even battered onion rings...... check every thing
  
  McVities are aware...THEY DO NOT HAVE IT IN their digestives.

  I think Biden did very well and at least he understood what he was saying. Palin read from her notes too much and didn't really understand much of the plan McCain has been telling the world for months now( and that has been in place for 8 years). She held her own in presence, but that's where it stopped.
  
  Biden answered the questions, Palin answered some and danced around others. Then again she is famous for circular non answers.
